I use the tool "rancid" to backup switches 3750 on my network. Rancid uses the commands show run and write terminal.
My problem is that for some area I dont have rights to write . I'm only a user level 7 (privilege 7) outside the command show run and write term are accessible in privilege 15. It is possible to downgrade the command in the lower level but nothing is visible, and therefore rancid not run.
My question is, is it possible to perform these commands at level 7 or create a user level 15 and to prohibit certain commands such as configure terminal? Note that I don't want to install server TACAS.
