Catalyst 4506 Dual Supervisor

Is it possible to install a 2nd redundant supervisor (ws-x4515) into a Catalyst 4506 chassis

Hi Paul,

It's not possible to achieve SUP redundancy in 4506.

In 4500 series swicthes, only catalyst 4507R and 4510R supports SUP redundancy.

Hi Paul,

4506 doesnot support Sup redundancy. It has only one sup slot and 5 payload slots for Modules.

Only 4507R and 4510R support Sup redundancy. These switches have dedicated sup slots and you cannot use a module in the sup slot.
