HI all,
I have this switch and 3 PoE modules into which the phones are patched.
I was just checking now and I see this:
M MAC addresses Hw Fw Sw Status
--+--------------------------------+---+------------+----------------+---------
1 000f.342a.5ac0 to 000f.342a.5ac1 3.0 12.1(20r)EW1 12.2(18)EW, EARL Ok
2 000f.2472.76e0 to 000f.2472.770f 2.0 Pwr Fault
3 000f.2472.fa80 to 000f.2472.faaf 2.0 Pwr Fault
4 000f.2472.f900 to 000f.2472.f92f 2.0 Pwr Over
So basically module 2, 3 and 4 have power issues and I can see why.
Does anybody know ?
Thanks..
PS: the phones are working just fine!

Hello,
what power supplies are on the C4506 chassis ?
check with sh power or sh env power
Be aware that older 4006 needs a specific module for supporting PoE modules but here should be enough to add another power supply I guess.
Hope to help

Actually the power supplies are 2x1400 w , but there is an external one of 5000.
This is the output:
Power Fan Inline
Supply Model No Type Status Sensor Status
------ ---------------- --------- ----------- ------- -------
PS1 PWR-C45-1400DC-P DC 1400W good good good
PS2 PWR-C45-1400DC-P DC 1400W good good good
Power supplies needed by system : 1
Power supplies currently available : 2
Chassis Type : WS-C4506
Power consumed by backplane : 10 Watts
Supervisor Led Color : Green
Fantray : good
Power consumed by Fantray : 50 Watts

More information is needed please.
What kind of power (low voltage, high voltage) are your 1400 Watt power supplies using?
What PoE modules (model number) are you using? What is the model number of the Supervisor Engine in the chassis?
Also, for how many IP phones and/or other PoE devices are the modules providing power?
My guess is that the power supplies are a bit under-provisioned in terms of wattage but until you give more detail in the areas described above it would be difficult to recommend a specific power supply upgrade.
