I just purchased a 520 to add to my basic small business network mainly for the PoE. I have a router at 220.127.116.11 then I want my switch. I'm trying to setup the switch following the instructions included. I get to the Static IP...what should I put there?
Or is it even necessary to go through this setup, can I just plug my switch in to the router then plug my components into the switch?
I do only need it as a switch. But when I plug in to the network and plug a computer to it, the express setup comes up. It won't let me past without entering an IP address. If I can't give it an ip of 192.168.1.30 I don't know what to give it.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
