CDP question

hi,

i have two routers connected via e1

side A S6/0/7:9 with a *.*.*.1/30

side B S3/0/2:1 with b *.*.*.2/30

when i do a sh cdp neigh S6/0/7:9 details

i?ll get the ip address from the fa0/1 interface but not from the serial.

I did a ping to the ip address that i applied to the serial interface and it works.why does cdp show me the wrong ip address ? it seems that this is not allways the case. that is the first time that i have seen this.

cheers

frank

Re: CDP question

HI,

So u r not getting the neighbour detail of Serial Interface. Go to the serial interface configuration and type command "cdp enable" and then check.

If offortunatily interface has cdp desable than it will not participate in CDP neighbourship database.

Hope this helps.
