CE500 loses SNMP settings

We have several CE500 switches that lose their SNMP settings after a power outage. The switches are being used with the Emergency Responder software so it's important that they have the correct SNMP settings. Usually the community string is lost, but a couple times after power is restored they have come up without SNMP enabled. Has anyone else seen this?

Re: CE500 loses SNMP settings

1)Submit changes on any other page after enabling SNMP, the SNMP config will be saved to startup.

2)You can use this URL to force a config save: http://x.x.x.x/level/15/exec/-/copy/run/start/CR

Re: CE500 loses SNMP settings

You may be running into defect : CSCsq97052

Check it on the bugtool :

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/launch_bugtool.pl

SNMP configuration is lost after a hard reload (power cable unplugged or power outage). The reason is that SNMP changes are not saved to startup configuration when they are submitted through the GUI (like any other commands) but are saved only if catalyst is reload via the GUI. Tested in TAC lab with whatever CE500 and software. Workaround: 1) Submits changes on any other page after enabling SNMP, the SNMP config will be saved to startup. 2) Uuse this URL to force a config save: http://x.x.x.x/level/15/exec/-/copy/run/start/CR
