CHUNKMALLOCFAIL error on 12.4T on 7206-NPE-G2

Newly upgraded firmware on a G2:

12.4(15)T1

Aug 26 12:50:53.611: %SYS-4-CHUNKMALLOCFAIL: Could not allocate chunks for CEF:

arp throt

Total free: 0, Total inuse: 500, Cause : Not a dynamic chunk

Followed by a traceback.

The router does not crash, so seems this is not fatal, but I don't like it.

Any ideas on a cause or a solution?

Thanks,

Roger

This is a known resolved bug. Typically seen when you are overloading your router with lots of packets >512bytes.

BugID is CSCsj25679 and should be fixed after 12.4(16)T although I dont think its released yet.

Open a TAC case if you need a special image released, or wait until the next version of 12.4T is released.

Thanks very much. I feel better that its not impacting traffic. This bug did not appear in XD train for this platform, even though bugtrak says it existed there.
