Please confirm its a L2 or L3 Switch. Also it has CAT OS installed already so please let me know if it can be upgraded into IOS. If not, do we need to upgrade into other CAT OS version that you would recommend. Also I'm not good in CAT OS conf and its a nex box switch so please help me in this as well. The switch is connected via console cable and the enable command can run but not config t. It would be better if someone provide the commands step by step.
Thanks

It's a Layer-2-only switch.

It's CatOS and you can't upgrade to IOS.
The switch is connected via console cable and the enable command can run but not config t.
"config t" doens't work with CatOS. It's a "set" command and the command is automatically saved.

Thanks LEO for your quick reply. Can you please tell of what commands of IOS doesn't work on CAT OS. I need to setup trunk port, creating VLANS and other basic config so the Cat OS commands are same as IOS. Please confirm and also highlight some other concerns which may help me in future.
Thanks

Thanks again.
Let's suppose I create 3 VLANS on switch and the switch will have one trunk port connecting to firewall where the firewall connected port has sub interfaces created. Also I create VLANS on ESX host which will connect with switch and switch port will be trunk. Now my question is if I use two Ethernet ports of ESX host and connect with two switch ports by configuring trunk ports so would it work as a port ether channel where the bandwidth will be doubled or we would require to configure ether channel on switch. Please confirm.
Thanks
