Cisco 2960 Uplink to a Cisco 3550 Inline Power

Hello All,

I just bough a Cisco 2960 switch and I am trying to uplink it to a 24-port PoE 3550 series switch via the PoE input port and when I connect it the 3550 I can see it getting power from the 3550 but for some reason it keeps rebooting itself. But it works normally when I connect it to a 3560 switch.

Has anyone run into this issue before ?

Hello!

Maybe I don't understand but why you want to get PoE from 3550 to 2960?! C2960 has it's own power supply and PoE is used to power up devices over ethernet...like wireless APs.

I always disable PoE when connecting sw-to-sw.

Give more explanation.
