Cisco 3750

Hello, I have 2 IDF in one floor, each IDF has 4 3750 stack, what's the best practice ? Do I need individual subnet per IDF or I can use 1 subnet for 2 IDFs ? I have data and voice VLAN . Thanks

You can use one subnet for the entire floor if you want to, it's all up to you. Your voice and data VLANs can be separate (SWITCHPORT VOICE VLAN ##);(SWITCHPORT ACCESS VLAN ##), respectively.

For us, we currently use a VLAN per department; however, we are switching to one VLAN per closet to make management a bit easier. I think best practice comes down to how you want to split and/or restrict your layout. But, certainly a VLAN isn't restricted to a device (or stack
