Re: cisco 3750X stack

You have different version of IOS. The member have higher version than the master.

By right, when a new member is added to the stack, the master switch will download its image to the new switch, send the stack configuration and enable it.

I have not encountered this error as I make sure the image of all switches are the same before I built a stack. I also make sure that the image of the new switch to be added in the stack is the same version with the master (or lower) - not higher.

Since the image of Switch-2 didn't change and its higher than the master switch, that could be the reason you have those error. Maybe manually changing the image will help (or change the master).

Hi Danilo,

Are you sure about the image download to member stack switches from master automatically(and also not by using archive download-sw command)??

I am not able to get any document saying that happens...

Infact, earlier i did try connecting a lower IOS version than master switch on a stack, and i left for 1 hour, still the image transfer hadn't happened from master to the member, and no log messages too.........., so i believe image transfer doesn't happen between master and member switch unless we issue copy IOS ourself from one flash to another.......

Please confirm/clarify...

Thanks,

Manjunath

Big Thx for all

The problem was the difference IOS versions

what did I do:

1. change master switch (switch 2 priority 15) did not help me - the master has not updated automatically other switch in stack.

2. I upgrade IOS on switch-1 manual. I get IOS 15.0(1)SE from switch 2
