Cisco 3845 Link Redundancy

Hello-

I have a 3845 router that I would like to utilize both of the GE interfaces on but creating link redundancy to two of our core switches. Since the integrated ports do not support Etherchannel what are my options? Do I have any options?

Thanks

Re: Cisco 3845 Link Redundancy

You could put each interface in a differnt subnet on the cores. Then you could configure floating static routes. Or you could use a dynamic routing protocol like OSPF or EIGRP. Or you could you Policy based routing to control the traffic route. Or you could use object tracking to insert the default route depending which one is up.

Really depends on what your running for your cores and what they support.
