Cisco 4506 Problem

Hi All,

How to find out my Switch is having CATOS or IOS ? 5 Ethernet Ports in one module are not working.Rest of the ports are working fine. Any workaround ?

Run " show version " on the switch.Check for the supervisor engine you are running on the switch.

Sup engine 2 i.e WS-X4013 supports CatOS.

Rest all the sup engines i.e Sup2+10GE/4/5/5-10GE supports IOS.

Please paste the show version here and we will be able to let you know about it more.

If your 5 ports on the module are not working, I would suggest to run the diagnostic tests on the switch to find out any hardware issues.

Can I do it while other servers are online on the same module ?

I have Supervisor Engine IV (WS-X4515).I have IOS only.

Yes, it should not be an issue. You can still run the test on the switch.

Test is passed that means there is not hardware issue with the ports on the module.

What do you mean by that ports are not working. is it that you are connect ing the PC to it and the port is not coming up?

And one more thing to point out is that u r configuration-register isnt it should be 0x2102.
