Cisco 4507R distribution switch

I have a Cisco 4507R distribution switch which is currently in production right now. I am running out of ports and I want to add 1 more line card expansion module.

The current configuration is:

Cisco 4507R

IOS ver. - 12.2(18)EW2

1 - Supervisor Engine IV (WS-X4515)

1 - 48-ports 10/100/1000 (WS-X4548-GB-RJ45)

My question is, do I need 1 more Supervisor Engine to support 2-48 ports 10/100/1000 (WS-X4548-GB-RJ45).

Also do i need to update the IOS to accomodate additional line card? please help. Thank.

The short answer is no and no. Longer answers:

If this is the only dist. switch you might consider adding another Sup for fault tolerance and availability during code upgrades/maintenance.

That code rev is pretty long in the tooth. You should consider upgrading to a newer release when you do your blade install.
