Cisco 4507R switch SUP V Uplink cable connectivity to Core
Hi we have Catalyst 4507R switch with 2 SUP V modules in slots 1 and 2 . These switches are placed in the Access layer . We have a 2 Cat 6509 switches at Core . Currently we have Cat 4507R Uplinks connected to core in this manner .
1/1 ---> 6509-1 5/2
1/2 ---> 6509-2 6/2
There are no cables connected to Standby SUP V in 4507 i.e 2/1 and 2/2 are free .
If the Active SUp in slot1 fails and the Standby SUP in slot2 becomes active the Uplinks would go down beacuse there are no cables connected to the Core ?
If so do we need to connect cables to 2/1 and 2/2 to the Core as well ?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
