Cisco 6509 port disabling

Hi,

I have servers which are connected directly to cisco 6509 (SUP1A). From few days the servers NIC's are going down randomly. but at the switch side the interface shows up always. Only the servers won't be able to communicate outside its vlan. It won't be able to ping to its default gateway also. only after restarting the server the problem is resolved.

Hi Kiran,

Could be problem of duplex and speed mismatch! I do face this problem sometimes.... Can u try changing them one by one on the switch side....

thanks balaji. Let me try configuring the duplex & speed. But the problem is happening for all the servers which are either gigabit or 100mbps. And it happens randomnly. Moreover the network was running fine from past two years without any issues. Also the interface at the switch side doesn't go down, its always up.
