Hi,
a customer has bought a pair of cisco 6880 and want to know if he could use it as a layer 2 to connect to a VNX 5200 emc2.

Hi,
As long as you are connecting Ethernet interfaces you are fine, but if the VNX needs to connect using FC or FCOE ports then you need a different device like Cisco Nexus 5500 or 7000 series.
BTW, for storage connectivity it is good idea to use Nexus if possible.

thank you very much for the fast answer, the goal is to connect the storage with 10Gb iscsi protocol, it is a good idea ?
For that connection can i use the twinax cable 10gb ?

Hi,
Yes, 10Gig iscsi is not an issue. It is simply Ethernet. As for Twinax, it should work fine but also check with EMC to make sure there is no compatibility issue in using Twinax.
