Cisco and D-link switch Spanning tree interoperability

Hi all,

I'm going to configure Spanning tree on a switched LAN using Cisco 2960G and D-link DES 6000. Are these switches completely interoperable? What if we implement VLAN and trunks ( Rapid-PVST).

Any experience report or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

kind regards,

A quick google search finds:-

ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/switches/des-6000/des-6000_man_jun00.zip

ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/product_datasheets/DES-6000.pdf

The switch supports 802.1q, no specific reference to 802.1w, but does indicate 802.1d. All implementations of 802.1w can interoperate with 802.1d, but you do not get the fast convergance!!
