Cisco Cat 6509-E all Physical L3 Interfaces have same mac?

Hello All,

I have cisco WS-C6509-E with IOS s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI1.bin. I see that all the physical L3 interface, L2 interfaces, vlan interfaces have same mac address. I was expecting different mac address on all l3 physical interfaces.

Anybody knows the reason for this? Or is there any white paper which explain this?

Example:

Router#sh int g2/3
GigabitEthernet2/3 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
  Hardware is C6k 1000Mb 802.3, address is 0025.b4cd.7040 (bia 0025.b4cd.7040)
