Hi everybody.
IEEE 802.3af power may be delivered using over power Ethernet capable Ethernet port, which is referred to as an End-Point PSE or by a mid-span PSE that can be used to deliver Power over Ethernet in the event an existing non-Power over Ethernet capable Ethernet switch is used.
How about cisco inline method? Can we use power injector? for example:
sw-------power injector--------PoE
The above switch does not implement Cisco inline method, while PoE is prestandard cisco-inline -method compatible device, Can we use power injector as shown above?
thanks and have a great weekend.

Yes. It is possible because I've done this before.
Even if the switch is PoE and you have an injector in between, the injector will take precedence and power the device.

Does power injector have 802.3 af intelligence/ cisco inline protocol? I will hazard a guess it does not.
thanks.
