Cisco Port Numbering TwinGig Convertors question

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/12.2/46sg/configuration/guide/sw_int.html#wp1077275

Say you're using Te1/1 which maps maps to Gi1/7 and 1/8 but you're using the Te1/1 (10GBase-LR), what would happen if you admin down the logical interface not being used like Gi1/7 and Gi1/8? Does it impact the Te1/1?

Thanks

You can't mix the ports together with TwinGig

from the link you posted:

Mixing within a port group will not work. As an example, you would not be able to have an X2 in port 1 and a TwinGig in port 2 and expect both of them to function
