I just purchased a Cisco 881 Advanced IP Services router. I had an 861 that I am currently replacing. For some reason I can not access crypto isakmp commands? Any ideas on why this feature would be available as I on cisco's data sheet, Advanced IP services gets all the same features as the Advanced Security?
Thanks.

I would have thought that crypto isakmp would be included in Advanced IP Services. Perhaps the output of show version might provide some insight into the issue?

Have you checked that indeed the license is activated ?

Do show version, and see which license is applied. This will clear the things. If its advanced ip services then do the following
config term
licence accept end user policy
end
After that you will need a reboot

I tried accpeting the user policy. Still no good.

Its npe, it doesnt support IPSec VPN thats why
09-28-2013 01:41 PM
What is npe?
09-28-2013 01:45 PM
NPE stands for No Payload Encryption. An IOS with NPE doesnt support IPSec vpns so you cant encrypt the data.
09-28-2013 01:46 PM
Ok, when I purchased it, they had nothing about NPE. Can I get this changed by cisco?
09-28-2013 01:52 PM
For this you need to talk to the vendor from whom you purchased. You can upgrade from npe to full advance ip services
09-28-2013 02:32 PM
Default option for 880 Sec router is
SL-880-ADSEC (default) (its not NPE)
now to upgrade to Advance ip services you need this
SL-880-AIS (upgrade option) | Cisco 880 Advanced IP Services Image Feature License |
This comes as spare so unless you specifed them clearly that you needed full advance ip services then this should be the license.
