Hi experts,
I am planning on upgrading our network structure by using a cisco smart switch to monitor and control network traffic in our office. we have lots of dlink unmanaged switches.
my question is: Will there be a problem in connecting the Dlink switces to the cisco smart switch?
here are my dlink switches:
2 X DLINK DES1016D
1 X DLINK DES1016A
1 X DLINK DES1024D
1 X DLINK DGS1024D
i am planning to use the cisco SLM2016T-EU SG 200-18 18-port Gigabit Smart.
please advise. thank you!

The DLINK unmanaged switches appear not to be capable of 802.1Q Vlan tagging so as long as you are not planning to start segmenting your network into Vlans then there should be no problems connecting them to the new Cisco switches.
We have used the SG300 Cisco switches on a few Vessels and they seem to be decent enough for what they are. We looked at the SG200 but the price difference for the SG300 was minimal and it gave us some decent extra features when we did a comparison so may be worth looking at.

so it is only VLAN tagging that will be affected? what about the other features of the cisco switch? can i still use them?
