Cisco Switch

I was checking the specs of Cisco 3750G-48 port switch stated that it does 38.7 mpps on a 32GB Switch Fabric.

Am I right to conclude the oversubscription 6:1?

Re: Cisco Switch

Hi Abbas,

specifications for the Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series.

• 32-Gbps switching fabric

• Stack-forwarding rate of 38.7 mpps for 64-byte packets

About the oversubscription, please follow this post to understand in detail.

Hope it helps.

No, it isn't quite that bad.  The 3750G-48 has 52 (duplex) gig ports (discounting StackWise prots), so its 104:32 or 3.25:1.

The forgoing is for bandwidth, for PPS, the same 52 gig ports could demand up to (about) 75.3 Mpps, so 75.3:38.7 or 1.9:1.  (NB: Effective PPS will usually improve with larger packets.)
