Clearing arp on 6513 causing loss of connectivity

Will clearing the arp cache on either or both Layer 2 and layer 3 cause the switch to loose connectivity to all connections? I have experienced a rather unusual situation and I wanted to know if anyone else has come across this issue.

Re: Clearing arp on 6513 causing loss of connectivity

Once the arp cache is cleared, the switch will not know the MAC address of the default gateway or other devices in the network and so it will no have any connectivity. So after clearing the arp cache, initiate a ping to the default gateway. Once the ping succeeds, the device would be able to reach any other external networks and has the connectivity.
