I am trying to clear the config on a Cisco Catalyst 5000. I have the 8mb flash drive (PCMCIA looking device) and I start up the switch, and log in, and now I need to clear the config. I am with a company that is donating this equipment to schools etc. Can anyone help me do this? Also I have a 5505, 5500, and few 7000 series. Would the commands be the same?
Also, do the flash drives contain all of config? So if I just used one switch to clear off all the flash drives, would that be ok?

Try
Console> (enable)clear boot system all
Console> (enable)clear config all
Console> (enable) set config mode text Console> (enable) write memory
Console> (enable) show config
Then see the following and see what devices the switch sees attached using:

After that do deletes for the various device:files you want to toast.

All cat 5000 series are cleared the same way , the 7000 which is IOS you do as "write erase " then reload the box , if it asks you if you want to save the config answer "NO" .
