Re: CMM Module upgradation commands

1. Download the image you need

2. login to the c6509

3. type "show module"

you should see something like this:

Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No.

--- ----- -------------------------------------- ------------------ -----------

1 2 Cat 6k sup 1 Enhanced QoS (Active) WS-X6K-SUP1A-2GE SAD04500APP

3 5 Communication Media Module WS-SVC-CMM SAD083802UC

Mod MAC addresses Hw Fw Sw Status

--- ---------------------------------- ------ ------------ ------------ -------

1 0003.32b9.3f6e to 0003.32b9.3f6f 7.4 5.3(2) 12.1(23)E4 Ok

3 0003.e470.2154 to 0003.e470.215d 2.6 12.4(11)T1, 12.4(11)T1, Ok

Mod Sub-Module Model Serial Hw Status

--- --------------------------- --------------- --------------- ------- -------

1 Policy Feature Card WS-F6K-PFC SAD04500DET 1.1 Ok

1 Cat6k MSFC 2 daughterboard WS-F6K-MSFC2 SAL08506ZJ1 2.8 Ok

Mod Online Diag Status

--- -------------------

4. login to CMM using "session slot X processor 0" where X is your module number, in my case it's 3

5. issue "dir /a" to see what you have there, and delete the image if you don't have enough space

6. Copy image into bootlfash of CMM, by either setting up IP connection through c6509 (configure the ports, just like CMM would be a router connected with cable) or through xmodem. You can check this by issuing "show cdp neighbors"

7. don't forget to change boot variable, like so: "boot system bootflash:wscmm-ipvoicek9-mz.124-11.T1.bin"

8. reboot the card/switch.
