Dear expert,
I have a case like this: for some reasons, i can't connect MyServer direct to Fiber Media Converter, so i connect it via Cisco 3560G
MyServer------------gi0/1.CiscoC3560G.gi0/2----------Fiber_media_converter_100----------------------------ISP
My problem is: I connect FiberMC with my cisco 3560 but the led on 3560 show yellow, not green, And MyServer cannot ping default gateway on ISP like i connected direct MyServer------FiberMediaConverter.
And i try it with cheap normal switch 8 port and it;s work nomally.:(
here is my config on gi0/1 and gi0/2:
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
switchport access vlan 506
switchport mode access
end
interface GigabitEthernet0/2
switchport access vlan 506
switchport mode access
end
i try spanning tree portfast and duplex full and speed 100 but it didn't work.
Can anyone help me solve this problem please, thank alot!!

Hello Tai,
Based on what I am reading the issue is with the connection on g0/2. What is the status of the port? up/down, down/down?

Sorry previous link is not going to work for you. Try this instead:

And your "normal 8-port" is a 10/100BaseTx?
Could be a faulty cable. Try a TDR test. Here's how it goes:
1. Command: test cable tdr interface GigabitEthernet0/1
2. Wait for about 5 to 7 seconds
3. Command: sh cable tdr interface GigabitEthernet0/1
4. Please post the output.

Can you provide a part number and manufacturer for your MC?
Is the MC 10/100/1000 to fiber? You may have to change the dip switch on the MC to hard set it to 100.

Try turning off keepalives on the switch port facing the fiber converter.
interface gi 0/x
#No keepalives
#Shut
#No shut
See if that fixes it.
