Hello,

i am trying to configure dhcp pool with classless network address:

network 172.20.1.0 255.255.0.0

default-router 172.20.1.254

but when i do sh run,the router config shows the following:

network network 172.20.0.0 255.255.0.0

is there a command i can use to stop the router from using the default classfull address.

thank you for your help.

Well you need to make up your mind:

either you use network 172.20.1.0 255.255.255.0 and that will do what you want or you keep network 172.20.0.0 255.255.0.0

I think you have a typo in your network statement you needed 255.255.255.0

lavramov,

thank you for the reply. the reason i need to configure the inside interface and the dhcp pool that way is because i have NEC phone system that i am not familiar with and don't want to change IP address cause it will create a chain of problems.
