configuring netflow for layer 2 switched traffic on my cat6509

Hi all

I want to configure layer 2 switched netflow on my cat 6509 running vss,

I have configured the 2 commands below

ip flow ingress layer2-switched vlan 1,2,3

ip flow export layer2-switched vlan 1,2,3

However, if I look in the config the export bit isnt there after?

It is running a PFC

VS-F6K-PFC3C

Should layer 2 switched netflow work in this chassis ?

it says on the Cisco site that it works on the below

"The command is supported on Supervisor Engine 720 in PFC3B and PFC3BXL mode only and on Supervisor Engine 2 with a PFC2"

so is it not possible for me ?

cheers

Re: configuring netflow for layer 2 switched traffic on my cat65

Hello Carl,

it should be supported you have a PFC3C > PFC3B

see

Except in PFC3A mode, NetFlow supports bridged IP traffic. PFC3A mode does not support NetFlow bridged IP traffic.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/netflow.html#wp1106378

Edit:

only the first command is reported in cfg guide

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/netflow.html#wp1157805

the NDE export part should be configured as usual as you do for the routed traffic.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
