configuring the TwinGig (CVR-X2-SFP) in WS-X45-SUP6-E Sup module

I am trying to configure one of the twingig interfaces on a WS-X45-SUP6-E sup module and can not get the interface to come up.

There is a GLC-SX-MM 1 gig GBIC inserted into the Twingig module. the switch seems to recognize that the GBIC is installed because I get a console message when I remove the GBIC.

But when I do a Show Interface Status it indicates there is no GBIC and the interface is inactive. A show interface command indicates the Interface is DOWN\DOWN.

Is there some type of configuration command I need to senter to get this interface to recongnize the existance of the GBIC?

FYI: I have tried multiple GBIC's and both of the 2 TwinGig slots in the Sup modules.

show Interface:

Re: configuring the TwinGig (CVR-X2-SFP) in WS-X45-SUP6-E Sup mo

This issue has been resolved. The solution was to use the hw-module command to set the TwinGig module to 1 gig mode.

hw-module module 1 port-group 1 select gigabitethernet
