NO,
you do not need a crossover cable to connect a router to a switch.
you need a 'straight through' cable. any typical CAT5/5E patch cable will do fine.

Hi Anky,
Yeah to connect wireless device to your switch you need a cross cable.
There is a way you can take decision yourself.
Always make the category of most commonly used devices like
Section A - Switch,Bridge,AP and HUB
Section B - Routers,PCs and Severs
Now any device which connect from section A to section B devices need a straight cable and any device if connected between same sections need a cross cable.

Do you mean the Access Point (not a wireless router) ? I believe straight cable should work. And most of the LAN switch can auto-detect MDI or MDI-X that there is no issue to use cross or straight cable. However, you have to check the LAN switch config. and use consistent cable.
P.S. If it is a wirless router w/ muliple LAN ports, you may use cross cable, because it acted as a hub.
