Connecting my Core Switches

Hi,

I am in the middle of a network upgrade and I am looking for the best way to connect my two Core switches. I have two 4506s in a collapsed core environment. These switches currently are connected via layer 2 links (not port channeled) to each other on g1/1 and g1/2 creating a spanning tree instance (rpvst+). My access layer consists of 17 closets with stacked 3750s. For odd vlans, core2 is the root primary, for even vlans, core1 is the primary.

My question is, am I okay with the two separate gig links between cire1 + core2 or should I port-channel them to make a single 2Gb link?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks,

lee

Currently, you have fault tolerance with the two separate GigE links but etherchannel will give you that and bandwidth aggregation so I say, GO FOR IT ! :)
