Hi all. Here from Spain.
¿How can i connect a Cisco switch Nexus 5000 to a Cisco switch 3750-E at 10 Gpbs of bandwith via copper cables? 3750's switches have a TwinGig module (10Gpbs, SFP interface), and i think also have a X2-10GB-CX4 transceiver module (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps7077/product_data_sheet0900aecd805bbe67.html); cisco Nexus 5000 has SFP+ interfaces. ¿Is it possible? ¿Can i connect sfp to sfp+ and achieve 10Gbps?
Or how can i connect a Qlogic CNA 8152 http://www.qlogic.com/Products/ConvergedNetworking/ConvergedNetworkAdapters/Pages/QLE8152.aspx), SFP+, to a switch with SFP ports (Cisco Catalyst 3560E-12D, http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps7078/product_data_sheet0900aecd805bac22.html).
l ask all these questions because i would like to install a 10G-switched network among a NetApp 3140 and two vmware-servers with qlogic CNAs. And also connect that 10G-switch with a 3750-E stack at 10Gps.
Ufff,
Thanks in advance.

Hello Ufff,
¿How can i connect a Cisco switch Nexus 5000 to a Cisco switch 3750-E at 10 Gpbs of bandwith via copper cables?
For 3750-E to connect using 10Gig, you will need the X2-10Gig transceiver module (it could be single mode or multimode). The fiber connecter type you need is SC.
On the Nexus, if you are using a 10Gig SFP, then you need to have an LC type fiber connector.
So, to connect the 3750-E to Nexus, you need an SC to LC patch cord.
In addition, on the 3750-E if you want to have 4 1Gig SFPs, instead of 2 X2 10Gig modules you can use TwinGig module to do that.

Hello Reza.
Ufff was an expression. Here Franky.
Ok. My concept about TwinGig was wrong. Thanks for your answer.
So, Nexus 5000 <-> 3750 = fiber, not CX4 copper, ok?
Nexus 5000 is so expensive...
And, if i had to connect two 3750s via X2-10Gb? Fiber? CX4 copper? Suppose i don't want to stack them.
Now i think... is it possible to join two 3750s via 20Gb-bandwith-Etherchannel?

Hello Franky!!!!
hmm, what does Ufff mean anyway? (Thanks for clarefication)

Right, fiber if you want to use the 10Gig interfaces
And, if i had to connect two 3750s via X2-10Gb? Fiber? CX4 copper? Suppose i don't want to stack them.
If you want to connect 2 3750s using X2-10Gb, then you have to use fiber
All the copper ports on the 3750 are 10/100/1000 no 10Gig
stacking is a different story. You use the connectors in the back of the switch with a stacking+ cable to stack them, so don't get theses 2 confused
Now i think... is it possible to join two 3750s via 20Gb-bandwith-Etherchannel?
Yes, you can etherchannel the 2 10Gig from each switch

Ufff : The first one was a long paragraph in english... i was tired at the end.
You said:

And what about Cisco X2-10GB-CX4?, it's copper: (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/ps6574/product_data_sheet0900aecd801f92aa.html)
Is it posible? Cheaper? Less perfomance?
