connection problem

I have a 2950 switch which is to be connected to the Intel? Express 410T

Standalone Switch. i tried to connect them through trunk ports, it did not work i then tried to connect the Intel switch with the access port of 2950.Still no connection.

can you please help me out in this regard as in how to make both of them compatible.i will really appreciate that.

Hi Ashraf

What do you see on 2950 switch LEDs when you connect two switch and what do you see when you use "Mode" button on 2950 switch.

Also in CLI check the terminal to see what happen on switch ,and also if you use straight cable to connect to switches change it to cross cable.

the LEDs donot do anything they dont turn on.

i am using cross cable though i have tried straight as well. I have 2 vlans running on 2950. I have not pressed the mode button.

Ok.

Now press mode button and then check the led condition on each mode.

What do you see , nothing ?
