copy config file using xmodem from switch to pc

I have a 2960 where i have created a base config file, i have 20 switches using similar config,only ip,gateway and hostname changes to be made.I copied and pasted but the commnads dont work well, any suggestions.Like the command xmodem hoto ..thanks

Could be that the copy and paste is happening too fast for the switch to process it. Try using a telnet/ssh client that allows you to use character and line delays. SecureCRT allows this.

Hi

I use a very short config to enable the switches to communicate with my laptop using IP (add an IP address to VLAN 1 and enable one port) and then copy the config files via tftp to the startup config.
