                   Hi all,

Need to confirm thing below

I have new switch and need to copy the IOS.

Switch is not connected to network.

I have tftp32 running on my laptop.

If i config the vlan on switch and say assign it IP address 10.1.1.2 Subnet mask 255.255.0.0

And  on PC i assign the IP statically from this Vlan range say 10.1.1.3  then PC should talk to switch means pingable?

IS this right way to transfer IOS if new switch is not on network?

Thanks

MAhesh

On your switch configure the Vlan as default gateway, so 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0. On your PC configure static IP of 10.1.1.2 255.255.255.0 and make sure you enter the default gateway as 10.1.1.1. You will then be able to copy tftp flash from 10.1.1.2.

Kind Regards,

Kevin
