Dear All,

We have 4503E switch  when I restart  the switch it will going to be a roman mode we changed

config-register 0x102  value.But again same problem.anyone please sagest the what is the problem

Hi Narsimaha,

There are several reasons on why the device goes into rommon mode.

configuration register issue

valid image is not present in the device

corrupted image

image compatibility with the device( DRAM requirements)

++ Have you synced the config after changing config-register value?

rommon>confreg 0x2102

rommon>sync

++ Check whether the boot variable is correct or not

rommon>set

The output of the above command will show the bootvariable configured.

To clear the boot variable,

rommon>BOOT=

To set the boot variable

rommon> BOOT=booflash:image name

rommon>sync

Also pls check whether valid image is present in the memory devices

rommon>dev

The above o/p will display the list of memory devices present and dir : will show the contents of the memory device.
