dhcp across vlans

Hi all, can anyone tell me how come that if the dhcp server is sent a request from one of my vlans, and this comes from the vlan L3 interface, how come the dhcp server knows what scope to give out?

It is going to use the source address subnet of u r SVI and according to it is going to assign the IP.

Re: dhcp across vlans

It adds whar is call a GADDR (gateway address) to the packet which is what the DHCP server looks for the appropriate subnet.
