Hi all, is there any way i can stop dhcp broadcasts on my switch coming through one of the ports, I have a site plugged in via a lan extension circuit, I dont want the dhcp propagating via the layer 2 link to my other site? how can i do this ?
I dont think im wrong when im saying that the only way of filtering broadcast's is putting a router/vlan configuration in the middle.
Then u make 2 broadcast domains.
Just as switches isolate collision domains for attached hosts and only forward appropriate traffic out a particular port, VLANs provide complete isolation between VLANs. A VLAN is a bridging domain; all broadcast and multicast traffic is contained within the VLAN.
