Hi,

Facing some DHCP issue.

I got my laptop directly connected with cisco 2960 switch.

However it not getting valid IP.

You have not given us much to work with to understand this problem. If the PC is connected to the 2960 switch can you tell us whether the switch has all ports in a single VLAN or are there multiple VLANs? If there are multiple VLANs then which VLAN has the port where the PC is connected?

Also what device in the network is supposed to provide DHCP? Where and how is it connected? Is it in the same VLAN (and the same subnet) as the PC or is it in a different VLAN/subnet?

When we know these things we will be closer to having sufficient information to give you some answers.
