DHCPACK won't go over Wireless (877)

Hi there,

I'd like my 877 to provide IP addresses to wireless clients.

I've created a BVI to link wired and wireless interfaces. Over the wire I have no problems.

Over Wireless from the logs I do see that the router generates the DHCPACK but the client _never_ gets it and it sends again the  DHCPINFORM.

On the wireles side the WPA2-PSK/AES association completes successfully.

Here the logs from the dhcp debug

Feb 14 09:01:39.641: DHCPD: DHCPDISCOVER received from client 0178.929c.0bbc.60 on interface BVI2.

877 runs c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T2.bin

What could I check next?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Hi,

can you capture traffic on the wireless client and post the capture file here.

Regards.

DHCPACK won't go over Wireless (877)

Hi,

I've been searching for this issue and I've found one solution which may work:

in your pool add this:

option 252 ascii "\n "

Let us know if it solved the problem.

Regards.

Thanks Alain,

unfortunately your suggestion hasn't sorted it out.

Hi,

are you using IE as a browser on the host? can you uncheck automatic proxy setting, remove the option I proposed from the pool and let us know.

Regards.

Re: DHCPACK won't go over Wireless (877)

Well,

normally I don't use IE. Anyway if we are speaking about LAN settings under Connections in the Settings dialog box of IE all the options are disabled.

BTW if it can be of interest, even Firefox is configured with the "No proxy" option.

Re: DHCPACK won't go over Wireless (877)

I've tried with my E65 and it works fine. I think the pbl is with Win7 but I wonder why I don't see the ACK message when I take the captures on Win7...

Hi,

when you debug dhcp for wired and sniff the interface I suppose you haven't got those INFORMS ?

Re: DHCPACK won't go over Wireless (877)

Hi Alain,

indeed I don't see the DHCPINFORM when I connet thorugh the wire.

I tried an RAlink USB adapter and it works like a charm, I'll investigate more on the Intel Centrino N-100.

Many thanks for your help.

Re: DHCPACK won't go over Wireless (877)

Hi,

In win 7 you may need to create a new connection profile before you can get automatic ip address. I had to create one myself when I changed my router.

Hi Eugen,

I recreated the profile but still the same problem. As I said above, I'll investigate on the specifc adapter.

Thanks,

Anyway, good luck!
