Diameter for Rapid-PVST

Hi all,

Could any one tell is the diameter for stp and for rapid-pvst is same to calculate the forward delay and max-age time.

eg

a---->b---->c---->d

for STP diameter 4 and for rapid-pvst also 4

yes,default net diameter is 7 for stp and 802.1w.

Hi Kishan,

I am a bit confused here on why its has to be same for both since in rstp a switch send hello without waitinig to receive hello from the root. Or is it diameter does not depend on which stp are you running.
