About a year ago we needed to upgrade the supervisors in our 6509 we also needed to have more than 2 scan sessions. We replaced it with a 4507. Now I need to tell management how this 4507 has improved our network. Things such as backplane speed, etc. Im not sure where I can find this information.

Hi,
Check the 4500 and 6500 switches datasheets on Cisco website. The datasheet should give you technical details for that model.

As the other poster noted, datasheets should provide the details you need. Do know though that supervisors, line cards and even the chassis have differences (within the 4500 or 6500 series) and overall capacity depends much on the combination of the different components. I.e. it can be complex to compare a 6500 against another 6500 without even comparing a 4500 vs. a 6500.
