002749: Apr 15 12:22:35.531 CST: %PLATFORM_CAT2950-3-SCHAN_OP_FAILURE:
S-channel operation timeout for opcode ARL_LOOKUP_CMD
cmic_schan_op ERROR: timeout (OP=0x19 polls=100000)

I can't get to that link it just says

Forbidden File or  Application

%PLATFORM_CAT2950-3-SCHAN_OP_FAILURE: S-channel operation timeout for opcode [chars].

This message means that there was a failure to read or write to an ASIC register or a memory location because of an ASIC internal bus failure. [chars] is the operation code.

Recommended Action: If the message recurs, copy the error message exactly as it appears on the console or in the system log, call your Cisco technical support representative, and provide the representative with the gathered information.

Go to:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2940/software/release/12.1_22_ea5/release/notes/OL7514.html

and look for bug CSCee32179. Apparently it is cosmetic only, and can be avoided by not using the features:

  • switchport port-security aging time
  • switchport port-security aging type inactivity

Hope this helps
