Does my cisco 3750-48ps have IPv6 feature set?

Hi there,

I've a 3750-48ps-s running ios version:

c3750-advipservicesk9-mz.122-46.SE.bin

I've tried to configure ipv6 on an interface but it does not give me the option.

How do I know if my ios is IPv6 capable?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Your 3750 should support IPv6 but you first need to enter the following command:

sdm prefer dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 default

in your global configuration mode, save the configuration and reload the switch. This command re-partitions the TCAM to support both IPv4 and IPv6 address storage and lookups. Without this command, IPv6 can not be activated on your device.

Read more about the SDM templates here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_46_se/configuration/guide/swsdm.html

(Please note that the SDM here stands for Switch Database Management; it has nothing to do with the older Security and Device Manager.)

Best regards,

Peter
