I dont get this config.

The ip address of the interface is a /30, since its a point o point.

But then the vrrp group is configured with a /24

They're also both on different subnets....???? Huh?

I dont get it. Im not sure what the other vrrp group is for either. Load sharing???

interface TenGigabitEthernet9/2

description To7609-2

ip address 71.22.7.129 255.255.255.252

vrrp 1 ip 71.22.7.1 255.255.255.0

vrrp 1 priority 120

vrrp 2 ip 71.22.4.1 255.255.255.0

vrrp 2 priority 120

Im used to seeing something like this:

int ge 1/0

ip address 10.10.10.2 255.255.255.0

vrrp 1 ip (OR standby 1 or GLBP 1) 10.10.10.1

and on the other router:

int gi1/0

ip address 10.10.10.3 255.25.255.0

vrrp 1 ip 10.10.10.1

Hello Joe,

I agree also on this first part

This is confirmed in configuration guide

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipapp/configuration/guide/ipapp_vrrp_ps6350_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html#wp1055625

first hop redundancy but it should be in context.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi, Giuseppe:

Im sorry, but Im conused with your answer. What are you saying?

You agree with my concern/statement, or you agree with the configuation and think its correct.

What context?

Sorry :-(

Thanks

Hello Joe,

I agree with your concern.

If we put a vrrp group it needs to use an ip address that belongs to an ip subnet that is advertised in some way primary or secondary ip address of the lan interface(s).

context = routing context

Sorry if I've confused you

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Ok, thats what I thought. Maybe its just a typo. Or maybe the guy is on crack. :-)

Thanks
