With a dual homed fex, which 5k is responsible for fex switchport configuration? I have read both, and it is recommended you use configuration sync between 5ks Any one doing this?

When you connect a FEX to 2 5ks, you need to configure both 5Ks. If for example you want to make port 101/1/1 a switch port on one of the Fex switches, you need to configure both 5ks.
config sync is optional.

Thanks Reza, seems like a shame this needs to be done. I can see mistakes occurring in busy environments.

Nick,
It is not hard to do. It is just copy and pate from one 5k to another. The reason for that is because the 2k connects to both 5ks, so they both need to know about it.
Thanks for the rating

Hi,
If you'are still thinking about whether to use dual-homed FEX, there was a (quite lengthy) discussion on some of the pro's and con's over in the Server Networking forum in the post N2K dual homing to N5K final sentence which might be worth a read.
