duplex auto on catalyst SW

I am giving duplex auto and speed auto on switch but the when sh int is used it's showing to be in full duplex mode.is it because of negotiation with the other end whcih is a WAN accelerator.

Yes, This is because of the auto negotiation to full duplex with the peering device interface.This means that the other side is also set on auto negotiation. If both the sides are set on auto then they will negotiate to their highest speed and full-duplex. As per the law of auto-negotiation both the sides to be set on auto to properly negotiate their capabilities.

Check it with the " Show interface status ", it should list you " a-full duplex " for the interface where your WAN accelaerator is connected. This means that port has negotiated on auto full duplex.
