Re: Dymanic Vlan question

Darren,

I haven't personally implemented VMPS. However, the following documentation doesn't seem to indicate you need an ACS. You just need a TFTP server to store the VMPS database from which the switch would extract the VLAN info for the user's MAC address.

Re: Dymanic Vlan question

That's correct, you don't need ACS at all.

Furthermore, if you don't have a switch capable of being a VPMS server, you can still deploy it with an open source vmps server, such as http://vmps.sourceforge.net. I have used it and it works fine.

Rafa

Re: Dymanic Vlan question

Hi,

Sorry for jumping on this post, but i have a question relating to it. :)

I need to implement dynamic VLANs too and i have investigated OpenVMPS. I am not a linux buff, but i can find my way around. ggt-cisco, was it easy or difficult for you to get setup? Have you had any problems? Is there any tips or easy ways to get this installed from your experience?

Regards

Stephen
